Friday: Scuderia Toro Rosso knows where to go in Korea

Jean-Eric Vergne – 17th and 16th:

« Today was a sort of anniversary for me because it was in Korea that I started driving during the Friday morning sessions for Toro Rosso, and today went better than a year ago when I completed 5 laps in very heavy rain. I can’t say much about it because there was a lot of work to do. It’s a beautiful track, and I feel comfortable here. During the day, we worked hard to find the right balance in the car between oversteer and understeer, and I believe we’ve made some progress during the three hours. But there is more to come, so we need to work hard tonight to see how we can progress for the rest of the weekend. »

Daniel Ricciardo – 16th and 17th:

We made some progress between the morning and the afternoon, and when I started the FP2 with the soft tires, I felt that the car’s balance was better. However, with the super softs, I encountered traffic on my first two laps, and when I finally had a clear lap on the third, the tires were no longer at their best. I did a long run with the super soft tires and, although the pace wasn’t what we wanted, it wasn’t too far off, so all things considered, the most positive factor is that we have an idea of how to progress tomorrow and improve our time in qualifying.
