Saturday: Scuderia Ferrari will review its plans for the Grand Prix

Fernando Alonso – 11th and 7th [6th on the grid]:

« What can I say except being angry about being unlucky? The yellow flags came at the worst moment, just when I entered turn 14. Without them, my lap was excellent and there was every chance I would be among the top four times of the day, which would have allowed me to start third on the grid. From there, the race would have taken on a completely different face, but we have to accept what happened. We were unlucky today, so maybe we’ll be lucky tomorrow! We are battling with some very strong rivals, like the Red Bull in front and the McLaren behind, so we will have to keep an eye on both sides of the track. I expect a tough Sunday: the main goal will be to finish – reliability is crucial – and bring home big points. We changed a few things on the car compared to yesterday, but after FP3, we reverted to our initial settings because we weren’t convinced by the changes. Honestly, I’m more optimistic for tomorrow than I was yesterday, given that our race pace is usually better than our performance on a fast lap: let’s hope that’s really the case. »

Felipe Massa – 3rd and 11th [10th on the grid]:

I’m very disappointed with the way the qualification went. Until the second stint of Q2, everything was going well: the car seemed very fast and I was happy with its balance. But suddenly, when we fitted a new set of soft tires, I lost front grip right at the first turn, and I never regained it throughout the lap. Missing Q3 by only 21 thousandths is a new blow. It’s very frustrating not being able to achieve good results when you know you have a good car. It won’t be easy at all to gain places easily on a track like this, but we will give it our all and try to bring a lot of points home.

The positions on the grid are provisional and may change due to penalties applied after the qualifying session.
