Saturday: Grosjean and Räikkönen in search of big points for Lotus
Hopes are high for Lotus ahead of tomorrow's race, as the Enstone team's cars have seemed at ease on the Suzuka track. Although Kimi Räikkönen made a mistake at the end of Q3, preventing him from achieving a better time, Romain Grosjean is showing his perfectionist side despite his fourth place on the grid.
Romain Grosjean – 7th and 5th [4th on the grid]:
Yesterday, we had two tough sessions, so having both cars in Q3 is a good turnaround. We knew it would be very tight in qualifying and I think we might have been one place higher with a cleaner first sector, but the leaders were too fast today. We are lacking a bit of downforce at the moment, but with a few minor adjustments tonight and the right strategy, I think we can come home with a good haul of points tomorrow.
Kimi Räikkönen – 12th and 8th [7th on the grid]:
« I spun out. I was on a good lap and pushing – maybe a bit too much – and lost the rear. It’s a shame because the car was the best it’s been all weekend. If the car is good tomorrow, we should be able to make progress. Let’s see how it goes. »
The positions on the grid are provisional and may change depending on the penalties imposed following the qualifying session.
