Friday: Williams Comfortable on Suzuka Circuit
Nothing to report at Williams after this first day at Suzuka. The FW34 is in the mix, and Frank Williams' team can therefore hope to achieve a good result tomorrow and Sunday.
Bruno Senna – 8th (Free Practice 2):
« It was an interesting day and we learned a lot of things. Missing the morning session was difficult because we had to adapt the settings to my driving style, but we had a trouble-free session and completed many laps, so overall it was a good experience. »
Pastor Maldonado – 10th and 15th:
« We have completed our program today but we still have work to do. The car seems consistent and our pace on long runs was good. We still need to find more performance before qualifying so we will work with the data we have collected. »
Valtteri Bottas – 18th (Free practice 1):
« Suzuka is a new circuit for me, so it wasn’t an easy session and it took me a few laps to get into the rhythm. In the first stint, the car’s balance wasn’t ideal, and we tried to improve the car in the second and third stints. I also improved throughout the session. I think I have a new favorite circuit because Suzuka is fantastic. It’s a real challenge and it’s very fast, which makes it a lot of fun. »
