Friday: Red Bull is in the rhythm at Suzuka
The first day for Red Bull in Suzuka is positive. The Austrian team ends the day with the fastest time in the second practice session thanks to Mark Webber, while Sebastian Vettel placed 3rd in this Free Practice 2. This sets an optimistic tone for the rest of the weekend, although they will need to work on finding the last tenths that will make the difference in tomorrow's qualifying.
Mark Webber – 3rd and 1st:
« It was nice to have good weather for a change. We have a lot of work for tonight, it was a good day for us and we completed the number of laps we wanted. It’s a tricky place in terms of balance but the car is working well and we tested both tire compounds. We have things we can improve, mainly in terms of balance, so we have a bit of work. Suzuka is a great track that hasn’t changed for a long time, it’s a classic. »
Sebastian Vettel – 17th and 3rd:
The car is good but there are still things we can improve. It was a bit nervous this morning, it was better in the afternoon but we need to step up by tomorrow. I think tomorrow will be very, very close so anything we find will be important. This circuit is so special, you have people everywhere who are passionate about F1 – sometimes crazy in a good way – and the track is fantastic, you have so many beautiful fast corners that flow into each other. It’s so enjoyable, you don’t want to go back to the pits but you want to stay on the track.
