Saturday: Karthikeyan continues his momentum with HRT
The HRT drivers will start once again from the last row, but as in Monza, Narain Karthikeyan will be ahead of his teammate on the grid, congratulating himself on having completed an "almost perfect" lap. The Spaniard, who was forced to move back on the grid due to a technical penalty, was unable to find a clear lap.
Narain Karthikeyan – 23rd and 23rd:
« I am happy because in qualifying, I completed an almost perfect lap. I am pushing very hard and I think I’m driving very well at the moment. I feel very comfortable within the team, they help me a lot and make me feel at home. When the work atmosphere is this good, it’s easy to perform well. I’ve had two good qualifying sessions in a row and I hope to keep up the momentum.
Tomorrow’s race will be physically and mentally challenging, but we will fight to achieve the best possible result.
Pedro de la Rosa – 24th and 24th:
« Overall, my feelings are positive because the car has improved, but we didn’t have a good qualifying session. We used a new set of tires and they were locking up a lot, so we couldn’t complete a full lap. Although I already knew that tomorrow I would be starting from the last place due to the penalty, I tried to do a fast lap, but I didn’t succeed.
I personally take note that the car has improved, and that’s important before tomorrow because it will be a difficult race. It will be tough for everyone, but we will have to race smartly to not overstrain the brakes and preserve the tires. As always, we will do the best we can.
