Friday: Marussia Drivers Already Performing Well

Timo Glock – 19th and 19th:

« A sweaty start, but no need to dwell too much on that. It’s normal for Singapore and the heat conditions are the same for everyone. It’s just nice to be back and very enjoyable to drive here. I love every lap covered. We managed to complete the planned program today. During free practice 2, we conducted important tests and we still need to analyze things and study which direction to take, because we seem to have made interesting progress with the car. Apart from that, we did some long runs with the tires and I think that will be the key to the weekend – being able to make our tires last as long as possible. It’s not easy to put together a good lap in qualifying but I will do my best and I think there is more to extract from the car. We will see what we can do. »

Charles Pic – 21st and 21st:

Once again, I’m thrilled to have adapted well to what is a new circuit for me, and it was also the first time I drove at night today, so I had a lot to learn. This morning, I focused on that, but I quickly got into the rhythm and was able to work on the technical program very quickly. The heat and humidity were not easy to manage for everyone in the team – it’s tough. Overall, I’m happy with where we are after this first day – especially compared to our rivals – and there is still room for us to improve over the rest of the weekend. I must say this circuit is one I was most looking forward to at the start of the season, and so far, I love it! The atmosphere is already electric given the unique setting, so I’m looking forward to experiencing the race.
