Friday: Already good adjustments for Sahara Force India
The Sahara Force India team had a productive Friday at Monza. The three drivers of the team, Nico Hülkenberg, Paul di Resta, and Jules Bianchi, were able to drive the VJM05 on the Italian track and all three were satisfied with its performance.
Nico Hülkenberg – 12th and 8th:
« It was nice to have a dry Friday for once, we were able to complete the entire scheduled program and do some long runs. Overall, we seem to be in good shape, even though I’m not completely satisfied with my settings yet. We learned a lot about the tires, both the Hards and the Mediums, which are working well here. The other big decision to make tonight is what level of downforce we will use for the rest of the weekend. »
Jules Bianchi – 16th [Free Practice 1]:
« I am happy with the way things went today. I feel comfortable in the car and had enough confidence to attack and complete most of the program. There was a lot of traffic on my first stint, but the next two went better and I was able to set some good times. The team asked me to drive with different aero setups to really feel the car, and we made some changes between the stints. So I am happy and want to thank the team once again for giving me the chance to drive the car. »
Paul di Resta – 7th [Free Practice 2]:
« It was a usual session this afternoon for me, and I seemed to get into the rhythm quickly. The preparation done in the simulator was helpful, and the base settings don’t seem too far off from what we need. We are improving the car with each stint, so there is a lot of data to study tonight to improve our performance tomorrow before the qualifications. »
