Friday: The HRT team tested many things
The HRT team ran three of its four drivers today in Monza, and despite this, the Spanish team conducted an intensive testing program, including aerodynamic testing, tire testing, and setup testing of the F112.
Pedro de la Rosa – 23rd and 23rd:
« Today, we had two great sessions that allowed us to try different aero configurations, compare tire types, and also do a long run to prepare for the race. We encountered no issues and were able to carry out the tests as planned. We can still improve the car for tomorrow in preparation for qualifying, but we have a good baseline for the race. »
Ma Qing Hua – 24th [Free Practice 1]:
« This was an extraordinary experience and I am happy with my performance. From the beginning, I felt comfortable in the car and working with the team, and I achieved all the objectives we set for ourselves. We started with a fairly long stint on the Hards and then made adjustments to the settings as I adapted to the F112. It was an important step for me, but also for motorsport in China because it is a very young sport but one with great potential. »
Narain Karthikeyan – 24th [Free Practice 2]:
We focused on testing different settings and the car performed well with each of them. The downside is that we had to stop before the end due to an issue with the exhausts. It was more a precautionary measure than anything else and it will be fixed tomorrow. But the best part today is that I managed to quickly find a good rhythm and the car is performing well.
