Pic and Glock, not a very cordial understanding?
Relations within the Marussia team seem to have slightly deteriorated between Charles Pic and Timo Glock. The latter, in an interview with Auto Motor und Sport, openly expressed his dissatisfaction with the Frenchman, whom he accused of blocking him in an untimely manner.
The Belgian Grand Prix was an eventful race on the track, with the first-turn pile-up and numerous overtakes serving as evidence, but also off the track, as the tweets of the blue bird can testify. Among the lively moments of the race, the noted battle between the two Marussia cars of Timo Glock and Charles Pic took a particular turn, with the Russian team and the two men having seldom received the attention of Formula One Management’s coverage this season. Nonetheless, off-camera, [photos](https://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/bilder/timo-glock-gespraechsbedarf-bei-marussia-5641865.html) suggest that this battle was less fair than it appeared.
This fierce battle during the 37th and 38th laps between the young French driver on a one-stop strategy and the experienced German on a two-stop strategy was not to the liking of Timo Glock, who expressed his frustration to our colleagues at *Auto Motor und Sport*, particularly complaining about being unnecessarily blocked by C. Pic: “At the end, I couldn’t push because Charles was in front of me and on a one-stop strategy. Maybe he doesn’t understand English on the radio.” This statement echoes certain paddock rumors suggesting that T. Glock is annoyed by the recent performances of the Frenchman, who notably outpaced him twice in Germany and Hungary.
A tense situation that T. Glock does not wish to address privately with his teammate, as the latter believes it is unnecessary to sit down and talk with C. Pic, a situation of deadlock that has already occurred several times this season. It’s up to the team to resolve this, says the native of Lindenfels. It should be noted that the Marussia team has recently expressed its desire to retain Charles Pic for next season, as he brings, in addition to his on-track performances, a financial boon from the Lagardère company, which is significant for a small structure.
When asked if it was a fair fight, Glock responded: « Only up to a certain point. That’s all I really want to say. There were some tricky situations that we need to resolve internally. »
