Sunday: Glock and Pic commend the work done by Marussia

Timo Glock – 15th:

« Not only was it great to be back competing here after the break, but it was great to really race after some very positive developments for the team. Not only did we bring good updates to the car, the team worked very hard to overcome the issues I’ve faced in the last few races and, here, it seemed positive. This is, in itself, another demonstration of how we all work together to achieve good results.

We didn’t start off in the best way on Friday, but on Saturday morning we showed our potential. We knew we could be stronger in the race, and we were: we could have been even better without a problem with Maldonado, which made me lose time at the beginning of the race and created a bigger gap than there could have been with Petrov.

I am very proud that we worked so hard, together, as a team, to reap the benefits we now have, and all my thanks go to the team, both on the circuit and at the factory. We are really in the fight now, and I had a great race today. Things can only get better for us, and I am very happy to be fifteenth today.

Charles Pic – 16th:

Once again, we didn’t get the best start and then I was stuck behind De la Rosa for a good while, which cost me time. We opted for a one-stop strategy that generally worked well for us, but I really had issues with tire degradation towards the end and, having older tires than Timo, he not only overtook me but I also lost time compared to him.

I was delighted with the progress we made for this race and my thanks go to the team for their efforts. We must nevertheless continue in this direction to bring us to a level where we can surpass our closest competitors, but we fought well today and, at least, it showed that we are doing a good job as a team. Now, I look forward to Monza.
