Saturday: The HRT team thrilled with their progress
The HRT team is thrilled with their Belgian qualifying as the team is convinced they have made progress. Pedro de la Rosa was satisfied with his lap, while Narain Karthikeyan is a bit disappointed not to have had a clear lap. However, the Indian driver is looking forward to tomorrow to do better.
Pedro de la Rosa – 22nd and 22nd [21st on the grid]:
« I am happy with my qualifications because we had a great lap. We went out with just enough time, and we did the three best sectors in the same lap; we took a risk, and it paid off. After this morning’s problems, we made the appropriate changes, and they worked well. We also managed to qualify ahead of other cars, and doing so on such a difficult track is an even greater satisfaction. For us, the times are not important; it’s seeing the improvements and not qualifying last that matters. There are a few cars with upgrades that are behind, and that’s positive. »
Narain Karthikeyan – 23rd and 24th:
« I took advantage of this morning’s session but didn’t have a very good qualifying session because there was constantly traffic. I was on my flying lap at the end of the session but another car got in my way at turn 15, and I couldn’t finish it. But that’s in the past now. We must forget today and focus on tomorrow’s race where we will fight, as always, to achieve the best possible result. »
