Friday: Toro Rosso at ease in the rain
Even though they didn't do much running, the two Toro Rosso drivers expressed satisfaction with their day. Daniel Ricciardo and Jean-Eric Vergne revealed that their single-seater was performing well in the rain, which they demonstrated through their rankings.
Daniel Ricciardo – 3rd and 2nd:
The morning session went well, and right from the start, we had a good feeling with the car in the rain. In fact, that has been the case when we’ve had rainy weekends, and the car immediately gives us confidence in these conditions. We were able to put in good lap times, and it was pleasant to be on this beautiful track despite all the rain.
Jean-Eric Vergne – 4th and 8th:
This morning, as is often the case in the rain, the car performed very well with Rain tires. We had no problem and my times as well as Daniel’s were good. However, this afternoon, the rain was really too heavy to do anything interesting, so we only went out at the end to do a start test on the grid.
