Friday: Karthikeyan was unable to drive with HRT
Replaced by Dani Clos during Free Practice 1, Narain Karthikeyan was the victim of HRT's decision not to take risks in Free Practice 2. The Indian driver is therefore eager for tomorrow to finally get back behind the wheel of the F112.
Pedro de la Rosa – 19th and 23rd:
I was surprised by the amount of rain that fell during the two sessions. We expected the morning session to be less wet, which is why we did our best to complete our only run. We only did a few laps, mainly to confirm that the car and all the systems were working well, so in the afternoon, with the conditions worsening, we decided not to go out as it wouldn’t bring us any additional benefits.
It’s been almost a month since we last drove the car, and the positive aspect is that we were able to stretch our legs and rediscover the sensations in the car.
For tomorrow, we will have an additional set of slick tires, and since we couldn’t evaluate them today, it will be a priority.
Narain Karthikeyan – 24th [in Free Practice 2]:
« Today, I couldn’t do a single lap while the conditions were terrible, but there’s nothing you can do about it, so it’s best to focus on tomorrow. We don’t expect any rain, so we will work to make up for lost time from the start [of Free Practice 3] and find good feelings in the car. It will be an intense session, but I really look forward to getting back on track. »
Dani Clos – 20th [in Free Practice 1]:
Once again, I had the opportunity to drive the F112 and it was fantastic. However, the session was not easy due to the conditions we faced. The track was very wet and the aim was to ensure that there were no issues with the car’s systems and to assess the balance. In this sense, everything went well and I felt very comfortable, so I am very happy with the work we accomplished.
