Charles Pic followed by Sauber and Force India?

Arriving in Formula 1 this season with the help of the Lagardère company, Charles Pic lingers at the back of the grid driving an underperforming Marussia, yet he delivers performances praised by his team, particularly when he reaches the level of his experienced teammate, Timo Glock.

Despite his low media exposure, Charles Pic is reportedly attracting interest. Our colleagues from RMC report that the Frenchman could be in contact with the Sauber and Force India teams. Didier Coton, tasked with managing the young driver in the absence of Olivier Panis, is expected to meet representatives from both teams this weekend during the Belgian Grand Prix. The two teams in question might have to reconsider their lineup in anticipation of possible departures: Sergio Pérez, a member of Ferrari’s young driver academy, could join the Scuderia in the near future, while Paul Di Resta is favored at Mercedes if Michael Schumacher departs at the end of the season.

However, the Marussia team would like to retain Pic for the next season, as his performance and financial contributions are highly satisfactory to the Russian company’s management. The announcement of the installation of KERS on the car for the 2013 season would be, among other things, a way for the team to demonstrate that their ambitions to progress remain intact despite three very difficult seasons.
