Räikkönen would like to do rallying again one day

If you are fans of the Finnish driver, rest assured, Iceman does not plan to leave the Formula 1 paddocks to return to the dirty tracks of the WRC world championship, at least not just yet.

The 2007 world champion who is making his return to F1 after spending two years in rallying has stated that he would like to compete again, just for fun, in this discipline once his Formula 1 career is over.

« I will do it for fun. The first reason I wanted to do it was to see if I was capable of it. I am a big fan of rally and always thought it was difficult, and I wanted to see how it goes, » explained Räikkönen to Autosport.

But for now, his attention is focused on the Formula 1 World Championship, where he holds the 5th position, 48 points behind the leader, Fernando Alonso, and that suits him perfectly: « I like both (F1 and rally). I would love to be able to do both at the same time, but due to schedules, calendars, and for other reasons, it’s not possible. »

Kimi Räikkönen had indeed expressed the wish to participate in the Rally of Finland during the summer break, but his team had not given its approval. It must be said that Enstone still remembers Robert Kubica’s mishap a few weeks before the start of the 2011 season.
