Saturday: Williams finally places both its cars in Q3
As Bruno Senna reaches Q3 for the first time this season, Williams will have two cars in the Top 10, which, according to Pastor Maldonado, could lead to a good result thanks in part to a strong car. However, the Venezuelan believes he could have done better without the traffic in Q3.
Pastor Maldonado – 11th and 8th:
My performance in qualifying was quite good, especially in Q2, but then, in Q3, I encountered traffic twice. I’m happy for the team as we both did a good job bringing the team closer to the front, so it seems positive.
It promises to be a tough race here but an important one as points will be our priority.
The gaps are very tight but we are both in the Top 10 and now we need to push for better positions in the race. We have the car and the grid positions to achieve a good result tomorrow.
Bruno Senna – 4th and 9th:
Until now, it’s been a good weekend and I’m happy to be in the Top 10 for the first time this season. Q2 was extremely competitive, but we managed to get through it. I could have done a better lap in Q3, but I’m satisfied with the result, and having both cars in Q3 is great for the team.
The car seemed strong and our pace over the long stints looks good. We are in a good position for the start of the race, so from where I’ll be starting, I’ll push to bring back some good points for the team.
