Friday: Grosjean is not confident in the Lotus
If Kimi Räikkönen had a trouble-free day and set the second-best time in Free Practice 2 after testing the Double-DRS again in the morning, Romain Grosjean was not entirely satisfied with his day and experienced the same feelings as in Hockenheim at the wheel of his Lotus E20.
Kimi Räikkönen – 8th and 2nd:
« It was a normal Friday for me. We did the usual stuff and tried to make the car as fast as possible. We were the second-fastest [in Free Practice 2], which is good, and we managed to improve the setup of my car during the last races, so I’m quite satisfied.
We are simply making small progress, but we are making progress all the time, and we are heading in the right direction. It’s only Friday, but we hope to have another good day tomorrow.
Romain Grosjean – 5th and 9th:
« It wasn’t the best day we’ve had, but it wasn’t the worst either. The car didn’t behave exactly as I’d like; I had the same sensations as in Hockenheim, which makes things a bit tricky. I made a mistake by going wide at the exit of turn 7 in the second session, which meant I hit the wall, so I really apologize to the guys for that.
On a more positive note, we now understand a few small things we need to improve in terms of settings, so hopefully tomorrow it will make a difference and I will have the confidence to push a bit harder to show the true potential of the car.
