Sunday: Tough race for Glock at Marussia
Timo Glock's nightmare weekend continued today during the race. The German driver again experienced issues with his MR01. Charles Pic, on the other hand, is quite happy with his performance and the regained performance of his car compared to Marussia's rivals.
Charles Pic – 20th:
« My start wasn’t very good, so I need to understand why and learn for next time. After that, the first lap went well, so I was able to come back. The pace was good and even though my position didn’t change, we continue to improve compared to Caterham and pull away from HRT. It’s positive, but not enough, and we need to keep working to find more performance. I am happy with my race and the direction chosen. The team guys had a difficult weekend but they responded well and I want to thank them for that. Now, it’s the Hungaroring. There isn’t much time but we will use these few days to study today’s race and I hope to bring some improvements for next weekend. »
Timo Glock – 22nd:
« It was not a great weekend for me. Even though it was my home race, I quickly realized it was a weekend to put behind me and it was very difficult, I must say. From the tenth lap, the car’s balance was not right and it became difficult to drive. We struggled with our top speed on the straights and towards the end of the race, I had a differential problem and the last laps were very tough. I couldn’t do anything with the car and lost places. It’s a race I won’t be thinking about for long.
