Sunday: Force India hoped for a little more
The Force India team managed to place both its drivers in the top 10 on the grid and the Indian team hoped to score big points, but ultimately only Nico Hülkenberg managed to finish in the points. The disappointment is therefore present, but the team still takes some positives from this German weekend.
Nico Hülkenberg – 9th:
We knew it would be hard to keep our fourth place because we didn’t seem so strong on the dry track on Saturday morning. But when you are in that position, you hope for the best and the first part of the race was good for me, and I had some great battles. In terms of strategy, making three stops was the right solution because making only two stops was not possible given the tire degradation. So it’s good to score some points, but I clearly hoped for more from my home race.
Paul di Resta – 11th:
« It was a difficult race today and we didn’t have the pace needed to fight against teams like Lotus and Sauber. The race story was decided on strategy, two or three stops, and in hindsight, we could have probably been more aggressive. But it was hard to understand the tires, and we seemed to have a pace problem in the middle of each stint. I think we have good base speed with this car, but we couldn’t demonstrate it today, and that’s why we are missing points. Let’s hope we can do better next week before the summer break. »
