Friday: Sauber aims for good qualifications
Despite the rain, Sauber is satisfied with its day, particularly Sergio Pérez, who was able to gain experience with Pirelli tires for wet conditions. On Kamui Kobayashi's side, there is less to smile about, due to a severe lack of grip that needs to be addressed for tomorrow.
Sergio Pérez – 4th and 5th:
« Obviously we were hoping for more dry running today, but it’s good to have some experience with the intermediates and wet tires because we will need them tomorrow in qualifying. I really hope we can deliver a good performance to give ourselves the best chance in the race. Regarding the new hard tires we used this morning, I found it difficult to get them up to temperature, but overall they seemed to behave well.
Kamui Kobayashi – 11th and 13th:
« I had a lot of difficulties in the wet and I had no grip. I suppose there was something wrong with my car and we are going to look into that. Tomorrow is another day and I am optimistic that we can be strong here. »
