Saturday: Maldonado aims for the podium, Senna for points at Williams
Mixed qualifications for the men of Grove. While Pastor Maldonado confirms his good form in the practice of the fast lap and will start in third position for the race, Bruno Senna comes out disappointed from his qualifications as he regrets not being able to piece together his best sectors.
Pastor Maldonado – 10th and 3rd:
We worked so hard to understand the car, but there is still more performance to unlock with the Soft tires. The team did a great job today and Williams is becoming stronger and stronger. This is not only a good result for the team, but also for my country, and there are a lot of Venezuelan fans here to support me, which is great to see.
The strategy will be important tomorrow as it is expected to be very hot, but it will make things difficult for everyone. My goal is to fight for the podium tomorrow.
Bruno Senna – 14th and 14th:
« I am not at all happy with my qualification today as I failed to put together my best sectors, which cost me many positions. However, the car seems good for tomorrow so with a bit of hope we can have a solid race. It will be very tough with the high temperatures, but we will push hard to leave here with some points. »
