Friday: Williams loves Valencia

The Valencia track seems to suit the Williams team's FW34 well. Maldonado was the fastest this morning while in the afternoon it was Bruno Senna's turn to stand out with the 5th fastest time. A promising sign for the rest of the weekend.

Friday: Williams loves Valencia

Pastor Maldonado – 1st and 13th

« We completed our entire program today. The track was still a bit green at the start of the day but grip kept increasing throughout the two sessions. The car was competitive but we lost a bit of time on our short stints this afternoon. We need to better understand the settings and anticipate changes in the track for tomorrow. The car is working well but we still need to improve it. »

Bruno Senna – 5th (FP2)

It was a good day and we completed our schedule. It would have been useful to cover a few more kilometers, but we still have a lot of useful data. We are closer to where we want to be, so I am happy with my day.

Valtteri Bottas – 16th (FP1)

«It was a difficult morning because the track was still dirty and I hadn’t driven the car since Barcelona, so I had to get back into the rhythm. I kept improving, and we gathered all the data regarding our new parts, which is the most important. The wind made things a bit tricky, so it wasn’t the ideal conditions, especially when the walls are so close. The most positive aspect is the way we manage our tires. My times in my third stint were still good compared to my first two runs.»
