Never two without three for Vettel and Red Bull in Valencia?

On a city circuit, it is generally complicated to overtake, but Valencia is not a city circuit in the strictest sense and Sebastian Vettel acknowledges that overtaking is possible, though not without taking risks: In Valencia, we drive at an average speed of over 200 km/h, making it one of the fastest circuits in Formula 1. Overtaking is possible, but only by taking risks.

The Red Bull driver indeed has his explanation on the subject: « The reason is that the air turbulence generated by the proximity of cars following each other doesn’t dissipate as it should due to the high walls surrounding the circuit, you lose grip, and in some cases, you have to ease off the throttle. »

The qualifying session will therefore be important in Valencia, and the world champion knows this better than anyone because he started from pole position there the past two years and won each time.

Mark Webber, for his part, doesn’t really know what to expect as it’s complicated to predict who will be competitive in this new Grand Prix, considering the first races: « Of course, it’s very difficult to predict how (this race) in Valencia will go because we’ve seen seven different winners and many different podiums as well. »

The Australian driver still has a goal: to gain places in the championship, so to finish ahead of Sebastian Vettel, Fernando Alonso, or Lewis Hamilton: « Our goal is to improve our positions in both championships, so personally for me in the drivers’ championship and obviously for the team which hopes to maintain a good lead in the constructors’ championship. »

Webber finished 7th in Montreal in the last race, but he is convinced that this goal is achievable given the commitment of everyone at Red Bull Racing: « I know that everyone in Milton Keynes has worked very hard between these two races. »
