Sunday: Zero Points for Williams in Montreal
The Williams team leaves Montréal empty-handed, but the two drivers of the team are quite optimistic about the performance of the FW34. Maldonado and Senna are eager to get to Valencia to prove that they have a competitive car and to achieve a good result.
Pastor Maldonado – 13th
«Today, the single-seater seemed very consistent and well-balanced, but unfortunately starting from so far back after qualifying meant that I couldn’t actually finish in the points. Our one-stop strategy forced me to manage the tires cautiously, but when I was able to push in the last laps, the car was fast. The car’s performance in long stints is something we can be optimistic about for the next race; we just need to improve our qualifying pace to start in a better position.»
Bruno Senna – 17th
«It was a difficult race today because I lost a lot of time in the first stint with the Super Soft tires, and from there, it was mostly about conserving the tires as much as possible during the second stint. We learned a lot from this race, and I look forward to the next one in Valencia, where hopefully, we can make the most of the car’s potential.»
