Sunday: Caterham, the calm race
The Caterham drivers had a calm race, delivering a solid performance on the track while, in the pits, the mechanics also experienced a trouble-free afternoon during tire changes.
Heikki Kovalainen – 18th:
(a) It was a quiet afternoon for me. I got a good start, quickly overtook Senna but then I was struggling a bit with the tires, which held me back. Our pace today was pretty much what we expected and we pitted a bit earlier than we anticipated, but that was really the only issue for me today. Otherwise, it was a good weekend. »
Vitaly Petrov – 19th:
« For me it was a good race. I fought with my teammate until the checkered flag and I made some good pit stops that allowed me to maintain the pace throughout the race. Tire degradation wasn’t too bad despite the track temperature, and we didn’t have any problems with the car, so it’s a good afternoon’s work.
We have some improvements coming for the next races, and the goal is for them to help us fight against one or two teams ahead of us: it’s another positive sign of the progress we are undeniably making.
