Saturday: Grim Faces for Marussia

Outpaced by Pedro de la Rosa's HRT, the Marussia cars lack speed in qualifying. For Timo Glock, the tires didn't respond the same way between his two runs, while Charles Pic, still learning the Gilles Villeneuve circuit, remains more philosophical.

Saturday: Grim Faces for Marussia

Timo Glock – 20th and 22nd

« It’s not a great qualification for us in the end. We need to understand why we didn’t gain time with the second set of tires, which is a bit strange. They didn’t have the same grip as the first set, and I wasn’t able to attack in the same way on the first flying lap. The second lap was fast only because, in the first, at the last chicane, I made a small mistake and had to slow down because of a car in front of me. It’s a bit disappointing because the gap was smaller than that, but now we need to focus on what to do to turn this around tomorrow. »

Charles Pic – 22nd and 23rd

« I am quite encouraged by the way things went for me today. It is always more difficult on a track you have never driven on before, where you spend more time getting to know it and learning its features than improving the car. There is certainly room for improvement in sector 1 and a bit in sector 2. Sector 3 wasn’t too bad. I hope we can find the pace a little quicker tomorrow and that both cars will finish the race. »
