Friday: the new rear wing works well at HRT
The HRT drivers come out satisfied from the first two practice sessions of the Canadian Grand Prix as the rear wing specific to the Gilles Villeneuve circuit seems to have produced the expected effects, even though both drivers still believe they can improve.
Pedro de la Rosa – 20th and 21st:
It seems that we have made a significant step forward in Montreal. Our settings work well, our top speed is good, and overall, the car handles well.
I am happy that my mechanic [see here] is doing well, it is a huge relief because I was worried about him.
We were faster than the Marussia in the morning and in the afternoon, but the car and I can still improve.
The increase in temperatures announced for tomorrow is good for us, as we had difficulties warming up the tires in the last sector, and this will help us.
Narain Karthikeyan – 22nd and 23rd:
« Today wasn’t a bad day, we made some changes to the car and it responded quite well. We improved a lot between the morning and the afternoon, we got the most out of what we have, but we still need to improve tomorrow.
I had issues with the front left brake, which didn’t allow me to do stints with significant fuel loads, so we will have to work on that tomorrow.
