Sunday: Disappointment for Pic and Marussia
The Marussia team leaves Monaco having lost its 10th place in the constructors' standings to Caterham. Disappointment is therefore present within the Russian team. Timo Glock finished 14th but hoped for better. Charles Pic had to retire due to an electrical problem.
Timo Glock – 14th
« It was a somewhat disappointing end to the race because it had started well. We had good speed at the beginning, and for the first 10 laps, I was able to stay with Jenson (Button) easily. We had a good pace until the last quarter when the front wing broke. We’re not quite sure why; maybe due to the contact with Pérez at the start of the race. We will have to see what caused it. Overall, I am happy with my performance and that of the team, but I am disappointed to have held onto 10th place for so long only to fall down the ranks. But that’s racing, and for a moment we had hope. Now, we will focus on Canada and hope that luck will turn. »
Charles Pic – Retirement
« It wasn’t a great race for me, but to be honest it wasn’t our best weekend concerning my performance either. We were hoping for a bit of rain, but it didn’t come, so we couldn’t take advantage of it. Our pace was better in the race than during the rest of the weekend, but in the end, we had to retire due to an electrical issue. After five good first races, I’m a bit disappointed, but we hope things will be better in Canada. »
