Sunday: Senna brings a point for Williams
After several complicated races, Bruno Senna managed to return to the top 10. The Brazilian driver finished 10th in the principality of Monaco, securing a point for the Williams team. After his victory in Spain, Pastor Maldonado was brought back down to Earth, as he had to retire on the first lap.
Bruno Senna – 10th:
I am happy that we were able to score a point after such a difficult race. We deserved more and I felt that we were better than that, but today it didn’t happen so we did our best. It’s good to be in the top 10 but I have mixed feelings. Now, we are ready for Canada and I look forward to this race. I am really convinced that we are beginning to know how to set up our car well, so I can’t wait to race again.
Pastor Maldonado – DNF (Did Not Finish)
« It was a difficult weekend for me. I am disappointed because I expected better for the race. We had a good strategy, but after a good start in the middle of the pack, I had a bit of bad luck getting caught up in the battle with the cars ahead of me. I locked my wheels and couldn’t stop the car on the dirty part of the track in turn 6. The weekend was compromised after the penalties received yesterday, so we are looking forward to the next race. We have a competitive car and it will be very different in Canada, it’s a different track and a different situation.»
