Sunday: Satisfaction at HRT with Karthikeyan’s 15th place

The HRT team is quite satisfied with their Monaco weekend because although Pedro de la Rosa had to retire on the first lap, Narain Karthikeyan managed to finish the race in a good position, in 15th place. The Spanish team thus achieved its best result of the season.

Sunday: Satisfaction at HRT with Karthikeyan’s 15th place

Narain Karthikeyan – 15th:

« It was a tough race because we were limited with the tires. We tried to maintain a consistent pace, stay away from trouble, and finish the race; we knew that if we could do that, we could finish in a good position. 15th is a good result and a good way to overcome the disappointment of Barcelona. Now what I need to do is work on improving my qualifications because that is my weak point at the start of the season. Hopefully, I can maintain this momentum for the next race in Canada and continue to improve. »

Pedro de la Rosa – Retirement:

« It’s really a shame; I’m sorry for the team because yesterday we did a good job and today we started in an interesting position and I think I could have achieved a good result. Our one-stop strategy with Soft tires at the start and then Super-Softs for the end was good. In fact, that’s what Vettel did, so it’s really unfortunate not to have been able to do more than 300 meters. It wasn’t a mistake on my part or the team’s, but from another driver, but these things happen in racing. One day, it could happen to me as well, what’s sad is that it happens here after all the work done.

In Monaco, I was eagerly waiting to finish the race with a good result. So I’m leaving a bit sad because, even if we couldn’t have scored points, we could have at least achieved a good result. »
