Thursday: Disappointing day for Red Bull
Subject to the same constraints as their counterparts, the Red Bull drivers still struggle to find anything positive in this day, which was obviously dedicated to groundwork on the RB8. Grip seems to be one of the main issues.
Mark Webber – 13th and 7th
It wasn’t easy for us, as it was for everyone today, and we have work to do over the next 24 hours. There are clearly some very fast cars and we need to see where we can improve. Obviously, track time was limited for everyone, so we didn’t do as much as we would have liked; but that’s how it is, and it’s Monaco. It adds to the challenge. The track is quite inconsistent in terms of grip, but we learned a few things today.
Sebastian Vettel – 9th and 10th
« We didn’t learn much today due to the conditions. It wasn’t ideal because we had a red flag this morning and it rained this afternoon; consequently, it’s difficult to say where we stand. We didn’t have much grip because of the rain, it was very slippery on the track, and there were a lot of cars out at the same time, but it’s the same for everyone. The weather can change quickly here, in fact, you can see there are sun rays now. »
