Thursday: Expected Improvement at HRT
If the rain has greatly disrupted the busy schedule of the Spanish team, the two drivers remain quite confident for Saturday, as the improvements made by HRT seem promising.
Narain Karthikeyan – 20th and 24th
« We did a lot of laps this morning and were able to try different things on the car. We found a fairly good balance, and we wanted to take one more step forward in the afternoon, but the conditions weren’t good, and you couldn’t drive at the limit. Unfortunately, we couldn’t achieve our best time as we would have liked, but we didn’t want to risk going out in the rain and chose to stay in the garage. Things look promising for Saturday, where we hope to encounter dry conditions to allow us to achieve a good result.
Pedro de la Rosa – 23rd and 23rd
« Today was really strange because, out of the three hours we had, I only did two stints. I couldn’t complete the other two. This morning, I encountered a cloud of smoke in the tunnel (coming from the Renault engine of Heikki Kovalainen’s Caterham, ed.) and a red flag, and in the afternoon, it started to rain. So, the day was productive considering the limited track time we had, and all the modifications we incorporated in the afternoon suggest a great improvement. The truth is that I would have liked to do a few more laps, because on this circuit, the more laps you do, the better. I’m looking towards Saturday, our goal is to continue improving the car and try to qualify further up. It’s difficult here, but it’s not impossible. »
