Thursday: Mixed feelings at Marussia
If Timo Glock reports a day greatly disrupted by both mechanical problems, a red flag, and the weather conditions, Charles Pic considers it "normal" and hopes to take advantage of Friday's day - not raced in Monaco - to improve the car before returning to the track on Saturday morning.
Timo Glock – 22nd and 20th
Overall, the mixed conditions today made working on the car very difficult compared to our program. We had a good start to the day this morning, but later in FP1 I had an issue at the front and then a red flag shortened the session. During FP2, it was important to go out early and have a good run, but it started to rain. It seems like it won’t be the only time this weekend, so we made the most of the track time and fitted the intermediate (green) tires, but the track was very slippery – especially around the white lines, so to be honest, the main goal was to keep the car on the track!
Charles Pic – 21st and 22nd
I enjoyed my first day of racing in Monaco and now I have a pretty good experience on both wet and dry tracks. Overall, a good start to the program, without any real issues, just a normal day – except for the weather – and focusing on speed. Tomorrow will be a rest day for us, but it will be an opportunity to work with my engineers, to see where I need to improve to come back stronger on the track on Saturday.
