Sunday: Disappointment at Toro Rosso after scoring zero points

The Toro Rosso drivers were unable to climb back sufficiently today during the race to hope for points. Therefore, disappointment is present for Jean-Eric Vergne and Daniel Ricciardo. The Italian team knows that it will have to work on its qualifying pace to hope to score points in the upcoming races.

Sunday: Disappointment at Toro Rosso after scoring zero points

Jean-Eric Vergne – 12th

« I really got off to a good start, even being 10th for a few laps. We decided to pit early to try to get ahead of some other drivers and I found myself 8th on lap 10. But I was behind di Resta and was a bit stuck. When I came back to the pits for my second stop to put on new hards, I was hoping to get past di Resta during this stop but the stop wasn’t our best, so unfortunately it didn’t work out and I was still behind the Force India. I lost a bit of time towards the end of my third stint, and in the last one, again on hards, I was faster than Daniel who was ahead of me. It took me a long time to get past him. Then, I tried to catch up with Webber and Hülkenberg, but my tires were no longer performing well enough. Overall, it’s disappointing because I feel that points were possible today, but for several reasons, we couldn’t manage to achieve that. »

Daniel Ricciardo – 13th

I didn’t get off to a great start, but with our strategy, we managed to gain a few positions. There were certain moments on track where we were really strong, but in the last stint with new hards, we didn’t have the pace of the previous stint. I managed to save the tires quite well until the end while doing good laps, but in the end, we had lost too much time. It feels like an eternity since the last time we were fighting for tenth place, but it didn’t go as planned. Overall, it’s mixed, but at least we showed slight progress compared to Bahrain.
