Saturday: Difficult qualifying for Red Bull

Sebastian Vettel – 1st and 7th [after Lewis Hamilton’s disqualification]:

« It was a different session today, it was really very tight. From Q1, we decided to use the Soft tires. The first stint in Q1 was not good enough, so I had to go out again and it was clear that if we reached Q3, we would have no new soft tires left. I think we did our best in Q3, we saved a few sets of tires, which we thought would be crucial before qualifying, but we didn’t have the pace for a top 5 today. The tires will be important tomorrow, so we’ll see what we can do. »

Mark Webber – 4th and 11th [after Lewis Hamilton’s demotion]:

«I am rather surprised; the guys did a good job with the car and we pushed hard throughout the weekend. We were fast, the track was getting faster and we were eliminated. My first timed lap in Q2 wasn’t fast enough. I was 2nd after that lap and we thought we had done enough, but it wasn’t the case in the end. I didn’t use two sets of tires in Q2, which wasn’t the right choice in the end. I was told not to go out again, but the fact that the track improved was a surprise for us. We were very strong in the first part of Q2 and I was happy with my lap. It happens sometimes. »
