Friday: Red Bull drivers happy with their practice sessions

Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber are pleased with the day of testing that has just taken place. Both men were able to work for the race and expect it to be eventful, particularly due to tire degradation, which could force drivers to stop more often than usual.

Friday: Red Bull drivers happy with their practice sessions

Sebastian Vettel – 2nd and 2nd

« It didn’t go too badly today – there’s still a lot to do on our side. We had a few new things to test today, which is not unusual in Barcelona. I’m quite happy; we covered many laps and completed the planned program. The wind played a role today, you could see a few off-track excursions and the track temperature can be high here which can cause the cars to slide. It feels similar to last year, and it’s likely we’ll need several pit stops on Sunday during the race. »

Mark Webber – 13th and 7th

« It takes time to find a good balance here. We saw at the end of free practice 2 that you have to do everything perfectly to get a good lap. We will have more chances to work on short runs tomorrow. We tried different things during these two practice sessions and we will see what Adrian (Newey) and the guys will come up with for us for tomorrow. I don’t know yet how many stops we will make on Sunday, but there should be a few. The Soft tires are nice to use – but tire strategy is going to be very important here. »
