Grosjean congratulated by Pic and Vergne for his podium finish
Romain Grosjean clinched his first F1 podium yesterday in Bahrain, and the Lotus driver was congratulated by his two compatriots, Charles Pic and Jean-Eric Vergne.
Romain Grosjean ended 14 years without a French presence on a Formula 1 Grand Prix podium in Bahrain yesterday. The Franco-Swiss also took the opportunity to secure the first podium of his career. His performance was praised by many observers and also by some drivers, including the two other Frenchmen in F1, Charles Pic and Jean-Eric Vergne.
The Toro Rosso driver praised the performance by Grosjean and only has one wish, to have a better car to do the same: «As a Frenchman, I think it’s great that Romain is on the podium and I’m super happy for him. It would have been nice if I could have had a car as competitive as his to fight with him for a podium spot.»
Charles Pic extended his congratulations to the reigning GP2 champion in the column he writes for the site Sports.fr: I want to commend Romain Grosjean’s performance. I was able to chat with him during the parade before the race. It’s great to see a Frenchman on the podium. I’m very happy for him. With Lotus, he’s done a great job since the start of the season, they are competitive, so well done Romain!
