No penalty for Rosberg after the Bahrain race
The stewards of the Bahrain Grand Prix decided not to penalize Nico Rosberg at the end of the race, even though the German driver was under two investigations.
Nico Rosberg’s defenses, which were a bit too tough against Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso, caught the attention of the race stewards this afternoon during the Bahrain Grand Prix. However, they decided to review these two actions after the race.
Their decision was made recently, and they decided not to take action against the German driver. In his battle with Lewis Hamilton, the stewards determined that the Briton did not pull up alongside his rival, and the latter did not change trajectory.
Regarding the incident with Alonso’s Ferrari, the stewards determined that Rosberg moved to the right before the Spanish driver did and did not make any sudden movement to change direction. Additionally, Alonso was never alongside the Mercedes, and the stewards consequently decided not to impose any penalty.
The decision was not to the liking of the double world champion. Alonso had commented at the end of the race that “if instead of a runoff area there had been a wall, I’m not sure I would be here to talk about it.” Once the stewards’ decision was made public, he did not hesitate to show his disagreement on his Twitter feed: “I think we are going to have fun in the next races! If you can defend your position as much as you want and if you can overtake off the track!”
