Sunday: Double retirement for the Williams team

Bruno Senna – Abandonment

«We did everything right in the first stint, but unfortunately, I struggled to keep up with the pace of the cars ahead of me. I think we were too aggressive with our settings today, but sometimes it happens. Towards the end, I felt a lot of vibrations in the brake pedal. The engineers were studying the situation, so you’re never fully committed because you don’t know what’s happening, but the vibration worsened, and we decided to pit to avoid the risk of an accident. It’s disappointing after two points finishes, but the season is still long.»

Pastor Maldonado – Retirement

I had a puncture coming out of turn 1 and then spun on the straight. I’m disappointed for the team because the performance was there. Starting from the back, I fought on every lap. The car was responding well and I was able to gain positions. I feel that today we could have scored points, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case.
