Sunday: Caterham making constant progress

Forced to return to the pits on the first lap after suffering a puncture, Heikki Kovalainen could only follow his teammate's lead. Vitaly Petrov, fighting for a good part of the race with Daniel Ricciardo, was pleased to have been able to battle in the pack.

Sunday: Caterham making constant progress

Vitaly Petrov – 16th:

It was a really interesting race, particularly at the start when there were a lot of overtakes, and it was good to be in the pack for the battle at the beginning of the race. We made some good stops, better than in China, and good enough to keep us ahead of Ricciardo with whom I had a great fight for a large part of the race.

It’s only towards the end, when we had to let the leaders go by, that we started to lose a bit of time, but today’s performance once again shows how strong we are on Sundays.

It was a good weekend from start to finish and a great way to end our first four races away from home.

We now have a few weeks before the next race in Spain, and we are approaching it very positively regarding our way of progressing.

Heikki Kovalainen – 17th:

« I got off to a good start but was hit by a car behind me in turn 10 which caused a left rear puncture. We stopped immediately and from there, it was about delivering the strongest race possible. I quickly overtook Glock and built a nice lead, and I was behind my teammate and Ricciardo.

It’s obviously a bit frustrating to have a flat tire on the first lap, but we can take away a lot of positives from this weekend, particularly the pace we showed during the race and the way we were able to take care of the tires, so overall it was quite good.
