Sunday: No miracle for Force India
Force India leaves Shanghai empty-handed. Despite being considered to have a good pace by the entire team, the VJM05s, which did not qualify very well, were unable to climb up the hierarchy. Unfortunately, the competition is very tight in the pack, which did not allow the Indian team to score new points.
Paul di Resta – 12th
« It was a very close race today even though we managed to stay in the fight we lacked the pace to catch up with our rivals and gain ground. So it was a bit like in Australia where we had a lot of cars battling together. I think we made the right tire choices and there were a lot of different strategies. It was incredibly slippery off the racing line because of the marbles. So we can leave here knowing that we are not very far from the other teams and we are determined to do well in Bahrain next week. »
Nico Hülkenberg – 15th
« I didn’t get a good start because there was a lot of wheelspin and I lost a few positions. Then I damaged my front wing on the first lap. I don’t think I touched anyone, but there was a lot of debris in turn 1, so maybe that’s when it happened. It made the first stint very difficult because there was quite a bit of understeer and I had to change the nose at the first stop. We were aiming for a two-stop strategy, which I think was the right choice because our pace was good at the end of the race and I was close to the pack, but I think we lost too much at the start. »
