Friday: Red Bull moves in the right direction
In China, Red Bull has two different options for the exhaust exits. Sebastian Vettel has returned to the first configuration, which seems to give him more confidence in his car, while Mark Webber has kept the team's latest developments in this area. Both RB8s still seem a bit behind, but optimism remains for the future.
Sebastian Vettel – 7th and 3rd
« It’s tight between the cars. I think overall we can be happy. We tried quite a few things today and we now have to see what is the best setup solution. If you look at the car you can see a big difference compared to Malaysia but I have no comparison on this track. It’s colder here than in the previous two races and I feel more comfortable but we’ll see. It’s hard to say if we are competitive. McLaren seems good in all conditions. »
Mark Webber – 6th and 4th
« We were able to gather useful information. We tested the slicks this morning between showers and this afternoon we did long stints as well as shorter ones, so we are learning quickly, which is important on Friday. We have a lot of things to analyze tonight to be faster tomorrow and Sunday. We are coming from a 50° track to a cooler circuit, but I think we are moving in the right direction.
