Friday: Productive day for Force India

Encouraging start for Force India, which worked on the aerodynamic evaluation of the VJM05 but especially on its cooling. The only black spot of the day: a brake problem encountered by Paul di Resta, which the team assures has been resolved for the rest of the weekend.

Friday: Productive day for Force India

Nico Hülkenberg – 10th and 12th:

« There isn’t much to say about today because it was a normal Friday during which we focused on tire usage and tried to prepare the car well for tomorrow. I believe we learned a lot of things, and the car behaves completely differently compared to Melbourne, due to the characteristics of the track and the temperatures.

The development work we have carried out is promising for tomorrow, and the long stints have provided us with very useful data, which we couldn’t do in Melbourne.

Paul di Resta – 8th and 13th:

« It was a very hot day in the car, but we completed most of our schedule and have enough information for tomorrow.

I encountered an issue with one of the brake discs this afternoon, which seemed perhaps more serious from outside the car, so the team made changes before I started my long stints on medium tires.

It’s always difficult to interpret performances on Friday, but I expect the fight in the midfield to be tight again this weekend.
