Friday: Williams will aim for Q3 tomorrow

Pastor Maldonado – 12th and 11th

« We had a good day of testing here in Malaysia. The team did a great job, and we completed our program without any issues. The car seems consistent, and I’m looking forward to tomorrow. It will be a good challenge to get into Q3, but I will push to the maximum to achieve it. »

Bruno Senna – Did not participate and 17th

« We had more work to do this afternoon since we didn’t run during FP1, but our pace on long runs seems good. We still need to improve during tomorrow morning’s practice, but we are heading in the right direction. The track is very different from Australia, and it will be a long and tough race, but I’m looking forward to it. »

Valtteri Bottas – 11th and Did Not Participate

« I am only the ninth Finn to race during a race weekend, which is something I just learned. After testing in Barcelona, my goal was to come here and I prepared as I would for a race weekend, both physically and mentally. I had a good pace right from the start of free practice 1 and we completed our program in preparation for FP2. It was really hot, the most difficult conditions I have ever driven in. When you’re driving, you don’t feel it too much but as soon as you stop, the heat hits you immediately. »
