HRT has only one car ready
The HRT team has not finished assembling car no. 22 for Pedro de la Rosa. This delay could prevent the Spaniard from racing this weekend.
Unsurprisingly, the Australian weekend does not start in the best way for Team HRT. Having not had the opportunity to test its new F112, the Spanish team is behind in assembling its second car, that of Pedro de la Rosa, as some parts have not yet arrived at the circuit.
Normally, all cars must go through the technical inspection on Thursday, but the assembly of the Spaniard’s F112 will not be completed in time. Therefore, the HRT management has requested an extension from the stewards to undergo the technical inspection tomorrow before the first free practice session, which will take place at 11 AM in Australia (which is 2 AM for us).
The response from the commissioners is not yet known, but if the team’s request were to be rejected, Pedro de la Rosa would not be able to take part in Sunday’s Grand Prix. The next challenge will be to manage to have both cars within the 107%, which they failed to do last year.
