Glock driving the Marussia, tomorrow, at Silverstone?
Like the HRT team, which is expected to run in Barcelona tomorrow with its 2012 car, the Marussia team might do the same at Silverstone.
The Marussia team issued a statement earlier this week announcing that it had not managed to pass the 18 mandatory crash tests for the homologation of its 2012 car, the MR01. The team had only passed 17 and had decided not to go to Barcelona for the last four days of pre-season testing.
She preferred to focus on her 2012 single-seater to strengthen it and successfully undergo crash tests again. Since this announcement, the Russian team hasn’t provided any updates on its progress, but according to Ted Kravitz, a reporter for Sky Sports News, the Marussia team has reportedly passed the FIA crash tests successfully and is scheduled for a run tomorrow at the Silverstone circuit.
« I heard that Marussia will run with its new car at Silverstone on Monday with Glock at the wheel, » Ted Kravitz shared on his Twitter account this afternoon.
Timo Glock could therefore be the first to drive the MR01 – which is not surprising since he has much more experience than his teammate, Charles Pic. Marussia could take advantage of this day of running – probably for the filming of a commercial – to cover a few kilometers with its 2012 single-seater in order to prepare for the first Grand Prix of the season, which will take place in 2 weeks in Melbourne.
