HRT will not be present in Barcelona tomorrow
Even though HRT team managed to pass the mandatory crash tests for the homologation of its car, the Spanish team did not succeed in designing the first chassis in time to run tomorrow during the last day of pre-season testing.
As in 2010 and 2011, the HRT team will not run with its car for the season during the pre-season test days. The Spanish team successfully passed all the FIA crash tests last weekend and hoped to complete its first car in time to run for one or two days in Barcelona. However, they did not manage to be ready in time.
Even if it will not run in Barcelona tomorrow, the team will be present as it intends to shoot a commercial on Monday to conduct the first shakedown of its single-seater, at least that’s what Autosport believes.
Teams are allowed to conduct this type of filming outside of trial days but under certain conditions. The tires used are specific ones. This filming will still enable the team to arrive in Melbourne with a few kilometers completed with the F112.
