Williams has to improve in slow corners

Bruno Senna had a productive day yesterday at the Barcelona circuit. The Brazilian driver completed 97 laps of the Catalan track, which allows him to better understand his new single-seater.

« I think we have learned a lot. Today I don’t think we have improved as much as we should have. There’s still room for improvement, » explained Senna to reporters in the paddock in Barcelona.

The Achilles’ heel of the FW34? Its handling in slow corners. Our car seems strong in medium and high-speed corners, but in slow curves, we still have work to do. We will have to wait and see if the changes we have made will be enough to solve the problem. I haven’t had enough time to try enough things, analyzes the Brazilian.

Despite everything, with almost 100 laps on the counter, there is reason to be satisfied with the reliability displayed by the latest creation from the Grove factory.

« We did a lot of laps today, reliability seems to be good. The tires behave differently here compared to Jérez so we need to understand what we’re doing but overall we learned a lot about the car. »

Learning will also be the role of Alexander Wurz, who joined Williams to share his driving experience with Senna and Maldonado, who make up one of the least experienced duos on the grid.

« Alex will be a real asset to the team. I think having someone from the outside with experience will be beneficial for me and Pastor, and I will try to take advantage of it as much as possible. »
