Friday: Webber and Vettel satisfied with Red Bull tests
Fastest time in the first practice session, Mark Webber believes that the conditions have made car setup difficult, while Sebastian Vettel, eager for another victory, expects that anything can happen, especially with the rain.
Mark Webber – 1st & 3rd:
The track temperature is high, not super high from an atmospheric point of view, but the track is very hot and also humid. It’s quite windy as well, so it hasn’t been the easiest day to have a well-balanced car, but it was clearly the case for everyone.
I think we had a pretty good day: there were a lot of tire compounds to evaluate, as it was likely the last time we could drive on dry conditions since rain was possibly forecasted, but we had a good day.
Sebastian Vettel – 4th & 2nd:
« I think we have been able to improve the car throughout the day, but we definitely need to take another step forward. It was hot today and the track was slippery, although rain is forecast for the next two days, so I think the conditions will change.
We are all here to win and it would be great to finish with a good race, but the weekend is looking long and a lot of things can happen.
It’s a tricky circuit and we all love to come here, it’s a good Grand Prix.
